I’m not gonna lie… this project means a lot to me.

We were racing against time with a deadline that wasn’t going anywhere, but instead of telling Danna’s story the traditional way, we decided to create our own cinematic language.

For weeks, we spent hours on FaceTime and Zoom. They weren’t interviews—they were just conversations. We’d talk about life, growing up, fears, dreams, heartbreak, and everything in between. Whenever she shared something that felt real, we’d stop, jump back into the edit, and start building the story right there in that same call.

The documentary wasn’t something we wrote first and filmed later. It came to life as we discovered it together.

Because this is Danna—and she’s a pop star—we also wanted the music to carry the story. We reimagined tracks from Childstar, weaving them throughout the documentary so the album became the emotional thread connecting every chapter.

Looking back, I’m incredibly proud of what we created. Not just because we made it to the finish line, but because we built something that felt deeply personal, intimate, and true to who she is.

This project was crafted with a lot of trust, a lot of late nights… and even more love.

DANNA: Tenemos que hablar is an intimate documentary that follows Danna’s journey from child star to global pop artist as she reclaims her voice, her identity, and her story. Blending candid conversations, never-before-seen archival footage, and exclusive performances from Childstar, the film offers an honest look at fame, vulnerability, and artistic reinvention. More than a documentary, it’s a deeply personal portrait of an artist choosing to tell her story on her own terms. (Disney+)
